Removal Procedure
- Remove the left fourth
pillar garnish molding. Refer to
Fourth Pillar Trim Replacement - Left Side
in Interior Trim.
- Remove the set screw in the side of the 2 piece duct.
- Slide the bottom half of the duct up into the top half.
- Swing the bottom edge of the duct toward the interior of the vehicle.
- Remove the top edge of the duct clear of the headliner duct.
- Remove the air outlet duct from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the air outlet
duct to the vehicle.
- Install the top edge of the duct into the headliner duct.
- Swing the bottom edge of the duct into the fourth pillar.
- Swing the bottom edge of the duct into place over the auxiliary
evaporator module.
- Slide the bottom half of the duct down onto the auxiliary evaporator
module.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Tighten the set screw on the side of the duct.
Tighten
Tighten the set screw on the side of the duct to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
- Install the left fourth pillar garnish molding. Refer to
Fourth Pillar Trim Replacement - Left Side
in Interior
Trim.
