• | Diagnostic Procedure Instructions provides an overview of each diagnostic category. |
This diagnostic applies to internal microprocessor integrity conditions within the engine control module (ECM). The hybrid powertrain control module (HPCM) sends an engine torque requested message to the ECM over GMLAN. The ECM monitors the data to verify that the indicated engine torque requested calculation is correct. The ECM processor monitors the data to verify that the engine torque command is correct.
• | The control module runs the program to detect an internal fault when the key is ON. |
• | Ignition voltage is 8-18 volts. |
• | DTC U1817 is not set. |
The control module has detected an internal malfunction.
• | DTC P15F2 is a Type A DTC. |
• | The HPCM commands the battery energy control module (BECM) to open the high voltage contactor relays. |
DTC P15F2 is a Type A DTC.
Powertrain Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Type Definitions
Important: Diagnose and repair any communication DTCs prior to performing this testing.
Program the engine control module (ECM) with the latest software version and recheck for DTCs.
⇒ | If the DTC resets after programming or if the ECM already contains the latest software version, replace the ECM. |
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
