A new auxiliary body control module (XBCM) must be programmed with the latest operating software and vehicle calibrations. Ensure that the following conditions exist in order to prepare for BCM programming:
• | The battery is fully charged. |
• | The ignition switch is in the ON position. |
• | The data link connector (DLC) is accessible. |
• | All disconnected modules and devices are connected. |
For some export vehicles the additional procedures below are designed to program the export body control module. Before you start, read these procedures carefully and completely.
Important: The vehicle trailer lamps, theft and rear fog lamps may not operate properly if a replacement XBCM is not properly programmed.
Program the auxiliary body control module. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) for more information.
Important: Only export vehicles with the inclination sensor wired to the XBCM require this procedure. If the inclination sensor is wired directly to the BCM this step is not required. Accidental enabling of the inclination sensor will require reprogramming of the XBCM.
Perform auxiliary BCM special function "Enable inclination sensor".
Important: After programming, perform the following to avoid future misdiagnosis:
