Front Fender Rear Molding Replacement Avalanche

Removal Procedure
Important: When this molding is removed, all retaining clips need to be replaced
with new clips if the molding is to be reused.
- Grasp the lower part of the molding.
- Pull outwards in order to release the retainers from the body
panel.
Important: Do not scratch or chip the paint.
- Remove all adhesive from the fender and the back of the molding using
a 3M™ Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disc, 3M P/N 07501
or equivalent.
- Clean the body panel using Varnish Makers and Painters (VMP) naphtha.
Installation Procedure
- Ensure that the painted
body surfaces in the tape contact area are clean and dry.
- Warm the body panel to a minimum of 21°C (70°F) using
a heat lamp or a heat gun.
Important: Do not touch the adhesive backing.
- Peel the backing from the adhesive on the molding.
- Align the retaining clips in their respective holes.
- Press firmly on the molding until all the retaining clips are
fully seated.
- Press on the top part of the molding so that the tape adheres
to the body panel.

Removal Procedure
- Remove the 2 push-pins from the front of the
end cap.
- Drill out 1 rivet from the bottom of the front end cap.
- Remove the front end cap from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the front end cap to the vehicle.
- Install the 2 push-pins to the front of the end cap.
- Install the rivet.
