Front Fender Rear Molding Replacement Avalanche

Tools Required

J 25070 Heat Gun

Important: When this molding is removed, all retaining clips need to be replaced with new clips if the molding is to be reused.

1. Grasp the lower part of the molding.
2. Pull outwards in order to release the retainers from the body panel.

Important: Do not scratch or chip the paint.

3. Remove all adhesive from the fender and the back of the molding using a 3M™ Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disc, 3M P/N 07501 or equivalent.
4. Clean the body panel using Varnish Makers and Painters (VMP) naphtha.

1. Ensure that the painted body surfaces in the tape contact area are clean and dry.
2. Warm the body panel to a minimum of 21°C (70°F) using a heat lamp or a heat gun.

Important: Do not touch the adhesive backing.

3. Peel the backing from the adhesive on the molding.
4. Align the retaining clips in their respective holes.
5. Press firmly on the molding until all the retaining clips are fully seated.
6. Press on the top part of the molding so that the tape adheres to the body panel.

Front Fender Rear Molding Replacement Z-71

1. Remove the 2 push-pins from the front of the end cap.
2. Drill out 1 rivet from the bottom of the front end cap.
3. Remove the front end cap from the vehicle.

1. Install the front end cap to the vehicle.
2. Install the 2 push-pins to the front of the end cap.
3. Install the rivet.
