Subject: | Gap Between Front Fascia and Fender on Left or Right Side of Wheel Opening (Install Fastener) |
Models: | 2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche with BX2 Lower Body Side Moldings |
Some customers may comment on a visible gap between the front fascia and fender or that the fascia is not flush to the fender.
The body (at fender to fascia interface) may be slightly wider than the fascia at the wheel opening.
Install a fastener through the top of the rear edge of the front fascia at the wheel opening on both left and right side of the vehicle.
DO NOT replace the front fascia.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Notice: To avoid damage to corrosion protection, do not allow fastener threads to scrape across inside fender surface during tightening.
Tighten
Tighten the fastener to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
