The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers of GMSPO service replacement fenders may comment that the fender side hood hinge pivot bolt attachment hole is too large (12mm).
Recommendation/Instructions:
The hood hinge pivot bolt attachment hole on some service fenders may be too large (12mm) causing improper retention of the pivot bolt. To correct this condition, add a M8X32mm O.D. by 2mm thick washer (obtained locally) between the hinge halves on the
inboard side of the fender side hood hinge which provides the proper surface for the shoulder of the pivot bolt to contact as it is tightened, as shown below.
