This diagnostic applies to internal microprocessor integrity conditions within the hybrid powertrain control module (HPCM). The HPCM monitors its ability to read and write to the memory. The HPCM processor stores identical data in two locations and compares the data to verify that the stored data is correct.
• | The control module runs the program to detect an internal fault when the key is ON. |
• | Ignition voltage is 8-18 volts. |
The control module has detected that identical stored data is not the same when retrieved.
• | DTC P16F3 is a Type A DTC. |
• | The HPCM commands the battery energy control module (BECM) to open the high voltage contactor relays. |
DTC P16F3 is a Type A DTC.
Powertrain Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Type Definitions
⇒ | If the specified DTCs are set, repair them first. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle. |
⇒ | If the specified DTCs are set, repair them first. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle. |
⇒ | If the DTC resets after programming or if the PIM already contains the latest software version, replace the PIM. |
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
