Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1248505 Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear wheels.

    2. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.

  2. Remove the screws and the mud guards.
  3. Remove the screws and the splash shields.
  4. Remove the screws behind the fascia.

    5. Object Number: 1248506 Size: SH
  5. Remove the nuts behind the rear bumper energy absorber.

    6. Object Number: 1248322 Size: SH
  6. Remove the rear cargo area trim panels.

    7. Refer to Cargo Area Rear Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  7. Remove the bolts in the luggage compartment.

    8. Object Number: 1248248 Size: SH
  8. Remove the bolts and the exterior trim panels beneath the taillamps.
  9. Remove the fascia screws beneath the taillamps.

    10. Object Number: 1248249 Size: SH
  10. Remove the rear upper fascia screws.
  11. Remove the fascia.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1248249 Size: SH
  1. Install the fascia with the rear upper fascia screws.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the rear upper fascia screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).


    Object Number: 1248248 Size: SH
  2. Install the fascia screws beneath the taillamps.
  3. Install the exterior trim panels beneath the taillamps with the bolts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the trim panel bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the bolts in the luggage compartment.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the luggage compartment fascia bolts to 5.5 N·m (49 lb in).

  5. Install the rear cargo area trim panels.

    6. Refer to Cargo Area Rear Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  6. Install the nuts behind the rear bumper energy absorber.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the rear bumper energy absorber nuts to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  7. Install the screws behind the fascia.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the screws behind the fascia to 5.5 N·m (49 lb in).

  8. Install the splash shields with the screws.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the splash shield screws to 1.5 N·m(13 lb in).

  9. Install the mud guards with the screws.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the mud guard screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  10. Install the rear wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
