The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

A customer might complain the rear seat belt buckles will not latch and or only latch in the center buckles. These vehicle's use a cross buckle design (often in sub-compact) vehicles. This design allows more comfort for rear passengers when sitting in the rear seats and properly restrained. The rear outboard seat belts are designed to latch into the center buckles (cross design).

Recommendation/Instructions:

Normal operation of the current vehicle design, no repairs or parts should be placed for this condition.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
