Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1371813  Size: SH

    Caution: Wear safety glasses in order to avoid eye damage.

  1. Remove the fuel pump fuse.
  2. Start the engine. After it stalls, crank the engine for 10 seconds to rid the fuel system of fuel pressure.
  3. Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  4. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  5. Remove the air filter housing.

  7. Remove the fuel rail. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement .
  8. Disconnect the A/C pressure sensor connector.
  9. Disconnect the power steering pump pressure sensor connector.

  11. Disconnect the throttle cable bracket with the bolt.
  12. Disconnect the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor connector.
  13. Remove the brake booster vacuum hose at the intake manifold.

  15. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe and valve.
  16. Remove the engine wiring harness from the intake manifold.
  17. Remove the intake manifold retaining bolts and the nuts in the sequence shown.

  19. Remove the intake manifold.

  20. Object Number: 1371818  Size: SH
  21. Remove the intake manifold gasket.
  22. Remove the intake manifold subsidiary bracket bolts.
  23. Remove the intake manifold subsidiary bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1371819  Size: SH
  1. Install the intake manifold gasket.
  2. Install the intake manifold subsidiary bracket.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1371820  Size: SH
  4. Install the intake manifold retaining nuts and the bolts in the sequence shown.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the intake manifold retaining nuts and bolts to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).
