Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1252065 Size: SH
  1. Pull out the hood release handle in order to access the screws.
  2. Remove the screws and the hood release handle from the instrument panel.

    3. Object Number: 1252066 Size: SH
  3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.

    4. Notice: Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Remove the front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  5. Remove the screws and the splash shield.

    6. Object Number: 1252064 Size: SH
  6. Open the hood.
  7. Remove the screws and the hood secondary latch.

    8. Object Number: 1252068 Size: SH
  8. Remove the cable from the hood release handle.
  9. Remove the cable from inside the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1252068 Size: SH
  1. Install the cable from inside the vehicle.
  2. Install the cable to the hood release handle.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1252064 Size: SH
  3. Install the screws and the hood secondary latch.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the hood latch screws to 8 N·m (71 lb in).


    Object Number: 1252066 Size: SH
  4. Install the splash shield with the screws.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the splash shield screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).


    Object Number: 1252065 Size: SH
  5. Install the front wheel.

    6. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Install the hood release on the instrument panel with the screws.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the hood release handle screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).
