Rear Door Lock Replacement Notchback

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1720595 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  3. Disconnect the inside door handle and the lock rods.

    4. Object Number: 1720596 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the outside door handle and the lock rods.
  5. Remove the bolts and the guide rail.

    6. Object Number: 1248286 Size: SH
  6. Remove the screws and the lock.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  8. Disconnect the lock rods at the lock.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1248286 Size: SH
  1. Install the rear door lock with the screws.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the rear door lock screws to 8 N·m (71 lb in).


    Object Number: 1248285 Size: SH
  2. Connect the electrical connector.
  3. Install the guide rail with the bolts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the guide rail bolts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  4. Connect the outside door handle and the lock rods.

    5. Object Number: 1720595 Size: SH
  5. Connect the inside door handle and the lock rods.
  6. Install the water deflector. Refer to Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.

Rear Door Lock Replacement Hatchback

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the door water deflector. Refer to Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  3. Disconnect the inside door handle and the lock rods.

    4. Object Number: 1248282 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the outside door handle and the lock rods.

    5. Object Number: 1248285 Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolts and the guide rail.

    6. Object Number: 1248286 Size: SH
  6. Remove the screws and the lock.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  8. Disconnect the lock rods at the lock.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1248286 Size: SH
  1. Install the rear door lock with the screws.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the rear door lock screws to 8 N·m (71 lb in).


    Object Number: 1248285 Size: SH
  2. Connect the electrical connector.
  3. Install the guide rail with the bolts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the guide rail bolts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  4. Connect the outside door handle and the lock rods.

    5. Object Number: 1248269 Size: SH
  5. Connect the inside door handle and the lock rods.
  6. Install the door water deflector. Refer to Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
