Circuit/System Verification

Ignition ON, verify the low speed windshield wipers operate.

If the windshield wiper low and high speed functions are inoperative, refer to Wipers Inoperative - All Modes.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the windshield wiper motor.
  2. Ignition ON wiper switch in the high position, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the wiper motor high speed circuit terminal 6 and ground.
  3. If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the wiper motor low speed circuit terminal 6 for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal replace the wiper switch.
  4. If all circuits test normal replace the windshield wiper motor.
