Inspect fuse F3.

  1. Inspect for a short circuit and repair, if necessary.
  2. Replace the fuse.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

  1. Turn the ignition ON.
  2. Measure the voltage at fuse F3.

Does the voltage measure as specified?

11-14 V

Repair the open power supply circuit for fuse F3.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the seat belt connector under the driver seat.
  2. Connect a jumper wire between the terminals of the seat belt harness connector.
  3. Turn the ignition ON.

Does the seat belt warning lamp turn ON?

Replace the seat belt switch.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Remove the instrument cluster.
  2. Inspect the seat belt warning lamp bulb.

Is the warning lamp OK?

Replace the seat belt warning lamp bulb.

Repair the open circuit between terminal B7 of the instrument cluster and ground.
