Headlights On Reminder Chime Inoperative - keywords battery block dead fuse head inop IP key lamp light notchback

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

A customer may comment the headlight on reminder chime function is inoperative or became inoperative after an I/P fuse block was replaced. This headlight on reminder chime feature was eliminated on November 17th 2006 as a running change.

Vehicles built before November 17th 2006:

These early built vehicles have the headlight on reminder chime. If you replace the I/P fuse block for any reason, the customer will lose the headlight on reminder chime feature. Even with the loss of this chime, they will now gain a new feature that is built into the new I/P fuse block. This new feature now shuts the headlights and park lights OFF when the ignition key is turned off.

Vehicles built after November 17th 2006:

The headlight on reminder chime is now eliminated, however the park lights and headlights will shut off when the ignition key is turned off.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
