Condition

Some customers may comment on not being able to shift out of park. In some cases, this may be associated with a comment that the brake lights are inoperative.

Cause

GM Engineering is attempting to determine the cause of the above condition. GM Engineering has a need to obtain information firsthand during diagnosis and after repair. As a result, this information will be used by engineering to "root cause" the customer's concern and develop/validate a field fix.

Follow the strategy based diagnostics below and fax a copy of the repair order to Al Ferry at 586-492-1500. All diagnostic information must be written on the repair order.
