This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTCs:
• | DTC P1701 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor |
• | DTC P1792 No Engine Coolant Temperature Signal |
• | The transmission control module (TCM) detects no engine coolant temperature (ECT) signal for 2 seconds continuously. |
• | No DTC U2105 |
• | The TCM judges the ECT is 90°C (194°F) when lapsed 15 minutes from ignition ON. |
The TCM will not request the illumination of the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) or hold lamp, but will store the DTC when the TCM detects a failure on the first ignition cycle.
• | The scan tool can clear the DTC from the TCM history. |
• | The TCM clears the DTC from the TCM history memory after 40 consecutive ignition cycles without fault. |
• | The wiring harness or the connector between the engine control module (ECM) and the TCM |
• | The ECM |
• | The TCM |
