Circuit Description

TPMS Receiver Module receives the vehicle speed signal from the transmission control module (TCM) and also receives the information of the tire inflation pressure from the transmitters and the transmitter’s condition. With these information, the TPMS decides that the warning lamp indication is needed or not.

DTC Descriptor

This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTCs:

DTC C0751,C0756, C0761,C0766 Reception Failure

Conditions for Running the DTC

Vehicle speed is above 32 km/h (20 mph).

Conditions for Setting the DTC

TPMS transmitter or receiver module is inoperative.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

TPMS warning lamp blinks for 75 seconds.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The conditions that set the DTC are no longer present, the DTC can be cleared by scan tool.

Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Replace the TPMS transmitter.
  2. Perform the TPS ID Registration procedure. Refer to Tire Pressure Monitor System Configuration.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 3

  1. Clear the DTCs with the scan tool.
  2. Operate the vehicle within the condition for running and setting the DTC.

Does the DTC reset?

Go to Step 4

System OK

  1. Replace the TPMS receiver module.
  2. Perform the TPS ID Registration procedure. Refer to Tire Pressure Monitor System Configuration.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 5

  1. Clear the DTCs with the scan tool.
  2. Operate the vehicle within the condition for running and setting the DTC.

Does the DTC reset?

Go to Step 2
