Installation Procedure
- Install the exhaust manifold gasket.
- Install the exhaust manifold.
- Install the 8 exhaust manifold nuts and torque in the sequence shown.
- Install the catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts.
- Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.
- Install the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.
- Connect the O2 sensor.
- Connect the ignition wires to the spark plugs.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
Tighten
Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
