Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1241458 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the breather hose from the valve cover.

    3. Object Number: 1241526 Size: SH
  3. Remove the 8 bolts from the valve cover.
  4. Remove the valve cover.
  5. Remove the valve cover gasket.
  6. Clean the sealing surfaces of the valve cover and the camshaft housing.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1241526 Size: SH
  1. Install the new valve cover gasket and the valve cover.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the 8 bolts to the valve cover and tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

    3. Object Number: 1241458 Size: SH
  3. Connect the breather tube to the valve cover.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
