Circuit/System Description

Battery voltage is supplied to the antilock brake system (ABS) warning lamp with the ignition switch in the ON or START position. The warning lamp should be activated only by the ABS control module internally supplying ground to terminal 10.

Circuit/System Verification

Verify EBCM connector is secure.

If EBCM connector is not secure, repair EBCM connection

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the EBCM connector.
  2. Release the shorting bar from terminal 10 and test for infinite resistance between terminal 10 of the EBCM connector and ground.
  3. If resistance in not as specified, repair the circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BPMV/EBCM.
