The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some owners may comment that the Service Engine Soon (SES) light has illuminated. the vehicle may also go into limp home mode. Upon closer inspection using a Tech 2, DTC P0606 (Control Module Internal Performance) is found stored in the PCM.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Follow the appropriate diagnostic information in eSI. If no cause for the DTC can be found, then answer the following question.
Does ECM contain ENGINE CALIBRATION PART Number 12629816 or 12629817 or 12627533 or 12627534 and P0606 DTC?
IF ONE OF THE ABOVE CALIBRATION IS PRESENT DO NOT REPLACE THE ECM. REPROGRAM THE ECM WITH THE LATEST ENGINE CALIBRATION FILE AVAILABLE.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
