The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
A ticking noise coming from the engine compartment may be the result of a fuel line grounding out to the vehicle bulkhead.
A ticking noise that sounds like it is coming from the engine compartment may be the result of a fuel line vibrating and grounding out to the vehicle body at the engine bulkhead on the passenger side. To remedy this condition, re-position the fuel line in the clip as illustrated.

Clip and Fuel Line Install Sequence
- Insert clip in dash upper stud until pinned by hand
- Insert fuel line in clip after U/B pipe loading by hand
Note: No screw method
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
