----------- A/C high-side pressure switch connector becomes partially disconnected, or will not stay connected, causing the A/C to be inoperative.
------- Due to the orientation of the A/C hose during assembly, the switch connector may contact the generator brace, with engine movement. (This movement occurs during engine acceleration/deceleration.) The combination of the connector making contact with the brace, and the engine moving, may partially "unplug" the switch. Refer to Figure 1.
------------ Recover refrigerant and replace the hose to condenser inlet line "O" ring, using the proper handling procedures provided in the Service Manual.
Before tightening the joint, align A/C hose as shown in Figure 2, keeping this orientation while torquing the joint to proper specifications. Complete the procedure as provided in the Service Manual.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
