CORRECT APPLICATION, 1/4 GLASS AND BODY LOCK PILLAR APPLIQUE

SUBJECT: CORRECT APPLICATION OF QUARTER WINDOW AND BODY LOCK PILLAR APPLIQUE

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1991 "L" COUPE SERIES -------------------

When servicing the quarter window and body lock pillar applique on 1991 L coupe models, use the following VIN breakpoint information to ensure the correct parts are installed for a particular application. If a later style window is installed in a vehicle with a VIN number prior to the VIN breakpoint, an interference will occur at the upper corner between the quarter window assembly and the early style body lock pillar applique. A new applique, Body Lock Pillar, P/N 22574192 - RH, 22574193 - LH is being released to replace the early style applique P/N 10159768 and 10159769 and must be used in conjunction with the later style window on these vehicles. This new applique will provide the necessary clearance between the applique and the later style window. It may also be used with the early style window only after stock of the early style applique has been exhausted.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
