Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle.
  2. Suitably support the vehicle.


    Object Number: 10809  Size: SH
  3. Remove the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor harness connector at the module.

  4. Object Number: 10811  Size: SH
  5. Remove the CKP sensor mounting bolts.
  6. Remove the CKP sensor from the engine.
  7. Inspect the CKP sensor O-ring for wear, cracks or leakage. Replace if necessary.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 10811  Size: SH
  1. Install the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor into the block.
  2. Install the CKP sensor mounting bolts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the CKP sensor mounting bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb In).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the CKP sensor harness connector.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
