Check for a leaking coolant recovery hose or reservoir, refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement .

Is the reservoir or the hose leaking?

Go to Step 2

Check for leaking hoses or connections, refer to Radiator Leak Testing (On and Off Vehicle) .

Are the hoses or are the connections leaking?

Check for a leaking coolant pump seal or gasket, refer to Cooling System Diagnosis .

Is the coolant pump leaking?

Go to Step 2

Check for a leaking cylinder head gasket or improper bolt torque, refer to Radiator Leak Testing (On and Off Vehicle) .

Are the gaskets OK and are the bolts torqued correctly?

Install new gaskets (if required).

Torque the bolts to the specifications

  1. Check for a leaking intake manifold gasket.
  2. Torque the bolts to the specifications.
