Tools Required

1. Remove the spark plugs. Refer to Spark Plug
2. Remove the valve rocker arms. Refer to Oil Filter Adapter Removal
3. Install the J 23590 into the spark plug hole.
4. Apply compressed air in order to hold the valves in place.



5. Place the J 5892-D over the valve rocker arm stud.
6. Install a valve rocker arm nut on the valve rocker arm stud in order to hold the J 5892-D in place.
7. Compress the valve spring with the J 5892-D .



8. Remove the valve keys.
9. Carefully release the spring tension.
10. Remove the J 5892-D .



11. Remove the valve spring cap.



12. Remove the valve spring.



13. Remove the valve stem oil seal.



14. Remove the valve spring seat.

Tools Required

1. Install the valve spring seat. Lubricate the valve spring seal with engine oil in order to make assembly easier.



2. Install the new valve stem oil seal.



3. Set the valve spring in place.



4. Set the valve spring cap in place.



5. Compress the valve spring with the J 5892-D .



6. With air pressure still applied, install the valve keys. Use grease to hold the valve keys in place.
7. Remove the J 23590 .
8. Remove the J 5892-D .
9. Install the spark plugs. Refer to Spark Plug
10. Install the valve rocker arms. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm, Push Rod, and Stud Replacement
