1. Raise the vehicle and install suitable safety stands.
2. Remove the rear propeller shaft. Refer to "Propeller Shaft Replacement."
3. Pry the seal out of the extension housing.

Tools Required

1. Install the seal, using J 36502 .
2. Fill the space between the seal lips with SLF/with friction modifier P/N 8-12377-916-0
3. Install the rear propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft.
4. Check the transmission oil level. Add transmission oil if required.
5. Lower the vehicle.
