Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement in Exterior Trim.
  2. Remove the hood bumper from the fender. Refer to Hood Bumper Replacement .
  3. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement .
  4. Remove the antenna mast and the base. Refer to Fixed Antenna Mast Replacement in Entertainment.
  5. Remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  6. Remove the radiator coolant reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  7. Remove the electronic brake control module from the fender. Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement in Antilock Brake System.
  8. Remove the vacuum tank from the left fender. Refer to Vacuum Tank Replacement in HVAC Systems-Manual.
  9. Remove the electrical harness retaining clips from the fender.

  11. Remove the bolts that retain the fender to the radiator support.

  12. Object Number: 354509  Size: SH
  13. Remove the bolt that retains the fender to the reinforcement.
  14. Remove the bolts that retain the fender to the cowl.
  15. Remove the bolts that retain the fender to the door hinge.
  16. Remove the bolts that retain the fender to the rocker panel.

  17. Object Number: 354515  Size: SH
  18. Remove the bolts that retain the fender to the wheelhouse.
  19. Remove the wiring harness and vacuum line retainers from the fender.
  20. Remove the fender from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the fender to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the wiring and the vacuum lines to the fender.

  3. Object Number: 354515  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the bolts that retain the fender to the wheelhouse.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the fender to the wheelhouse bolts to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).

  6. Install the bolts that retain the fender to the door hinge.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the fender to the door hinge bolts to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).

  8. Install the bolts that retain the fender to the cowl.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the fender to the cowl bolts to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).

  10. Install the bolt that retains fender to the door frame.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the fender to the door frame bolts to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).

  12. Install the bolt that retains the fender to the reinforcement.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the fender to the reinforcement bolts to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).

  14. Install the bolts that retain the fender to the radiator support.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the fender to the radiator support bolts to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).

  16. Install the radiator coolant bottle. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  17. Install the vacuum tank to the left fender. Refer to Vacuum Tank Replacement in HVAC-Manual.
  18. Install the electrical harness retaining clips to the fender.
  19. Install the electronic brake control module to the fender. Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement in Antilock Brake System.
  20. Install the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  21. Install the antenna mast and the base. Refer to Fixed Antenna Mast Replacement in Entertainment.
  22. Install the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement .
  23. Install the hood bumper to the fender. Refer to Hood Bumper Replacement .
  24. Install the radiator grille. Refer to Grille Replacement in Exterior Trim.
