Rear Seat Belt Buckle Replacement Utility

Removal Procedure

  1. Fold the rear seats forward.
  2. Lift the rear seat floor filler trim panels to access the rear seat belt buckle assembly.

  3. Remove the rear seat belt buckle assembly retaining nuts.
  4. Remove the rear seat belt buckle assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear seat belt buckle assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the rear seat belt buckle assembly retaining nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear seat belt buckle assembly retaining nuts to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).

Rear Seat Belt Buckle Replacement Crew Cab

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove 2 bolts securing the rear seat bottom to the floor.
  2. Carefully pull the rear seat bottom cushion ears to release retainers from the rear seat back mounting bracket.
  3. Remove the rear seat bottom cushion.

  4. Object Number: 651722  Size: SH
  5. Remove the rear seat belt buckle assembly retaining nuts.
  6. Remove the rear seat belt buckle assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear seat belt buckle assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.   3. Install the rear seat belt buckle assembly retaining nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear seat belt buckle assembly retaining nuts to 80 N·m (59 lb ft).

  5. Install the rear seat bottom cushion to the vehicle. Insure the seat bottom frame engages into the tabs on the rear seat back bracket.
  6. Install the rear seat bottom bolts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the rear seat bottom bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  8. Install the rear seat bottom cushion ear retainers into the rear seat back mounting bracket.
