Removal Procedure
- Remove the instrument
panel trimplate. Refer to
Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement
.
- Remove ashtray housing retaining screws.
- Move the ashtray housing rearward in order to disconnect the electrical
connectors.
- Remove the clip that retains the electrical connectors to the
instrument panel.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the ashtray housing from the instrument panel.
Installation Procedure
- Install the ashtray housing
to the instrument panel.
- Position the ashtray housing in order to connect the electrical
connectors.
- Connect the electrical connectors.
- Install the electrical connector retaining clip to the instrument
panel.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the screws that
retain the ash tray housing to the instrument panel.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).
- Install the instrument panel trimplate. Refer to
