CONSOLE DOOR MODIFICATION IMPROVED APPEARANCE AND EFFORT

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1983-85 S/T Pick-ups, Blazers and Jimmys Equipped RPO D55 Console ----------------------------------------

The seat separator console on 1983-85 S/T Pickups, Blazers and Jimmys can be modified to improve the appearance of the lid in the closed position and to allow less closure effort. These changes include the addition of a spring under the door middle attaching screw and a new spring at the door compartment stop.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

. Remove door from console body (see Figure No. 1).

. Install two washers, P/N 2077521, and spring, P/N 155445361 under the door centre attaching screw on the hinge side. The tab on the spring should point away from the hinge side of the console (see Figure No. 1).

. Discard existing spring at the door compartment stop and install spring, P/N 15544543 (see Figure No. 1).

. Reinstall console door.
