Dear Chevrolet/Geo Dealer:
General Motors has determined that customers with CERTAIN 1995 Blazers with GMSPO running boards may experience that the installation of the running boards severely inhibits the jacking of the vehicle using the original equipment jack. The running boards 'widen" the vehicle and greatly reduces the diameter of the arc of the jack handle travel. This makes manual jacking of the vehicle difficult. Also, the rear end caps may not support an individual's weight if the very end-most "balloon, portion is stepped on. Forces greater than approximately 250 pounds could cause the end cap to detach from the running board and the vehicle.
To correct this condition, it will be necessary to install a running board enhancement kit. This kit contains revised rear end-cap supports, a jack handle extension, and new jacking and jack handle stowage instructions.
Vehicles involved are certain 1995 2-door and 4-door S/T Blazers equipped with GMSPO running boards that were sold by GMSPO to dealers from November 16, 1994 through January 17, 1995. Enclosed is a list of involved running boards sold to your dealership.
Your dealership sales records require inspection to determine the name and address of purchasers of these GMSPO running boards. You will be paid a time allowance of 18 minutes for each name and address found. This time allowance differs from the previous campaign (91-C-51 Service Part Fuel Tank Sender Ring Welds) due to the fact that you will not be mailing a copy the owner's name address to Chevrolet Central office.
0 If the purchaser is the owner of the vehicle, you should send the owner a copy of the attached owner letter requesting their truck be brought in for repair per campaign bulletin 95-C-44.
0 If the purchaser is NOT the owner of the vehicle, (e.g. , a body shop, independent repair shop, etc.), you should contact the repair facility and obtain the owner's name and address so you can send the owner a copy of the attached owner letter requesting their truck be brought in for inspection per Campaign Bulletin 95-C-44.
Since this recall involves an accessory part, and Chevrolet records do not contain the customer name and address, it is very important that each involved dealer take the necessary time required to responsibly identify customers who have purchased these running boards.
If you have any of these running boards in inventory, they should be fitted with the enhancement kit identified in the Part Section of Campaign Bulletin 95-C-44. Please mark any remaining running board inventory that the campaign kit msut be provided with any future sales.
Your prompt attention to this matter is most appreciated.

Owners of vehicles recently sold from your new vehicle inventory with no owner information indicated on the dealer listing, are to be contacted by the dealer, and arrangements made to make the required correction according to the instructions contained in this bulletin. This could be done by mailing to such owners a copy of the owners letter accompanying this bulletin along with the NEW locking wheel lug nut key. Campaign follow-up cards should not be used for this purpose, since the owner may not as yet have received the notification letter.
In summary, whenever a vehicle subject to this campaign enters your vehicle inventory, or is in your dealership for service in the future, please take the steps necessary to be sure the campaign correction has been made before selling or releasing the vehicle.
1. Replace locking wheel lug nut key (usually found in glove box or console) with the new key.

Each vehicle corrected in accordance with the instructions outlined in this Product Campaign Bulletin will require a "Campaign Identification Label". This information may be inserted with a typewriter or a ball point pen.
Each "Campaign Identification Label" is to be located on the radiator core support in an area which will be visible when the vehicle is brought in for periodic servicing by the owner. Dear Chevrolet Customer:
This notice is sent to inform you that Chevrolet Motor Division is conducting a recall campaign that includes your vehicle.
General Motors has decided that certain 1995 Chevrolet Camaro model vehicles equipped with optional aluminum wheels have an incorrect locking wheel lug nut key. If a wheel had to be removed from one of these vehicles, the lug nut key socket supplied for the locking wheel lug nut may not fit the nut and the wheel could not be removed.
To reduce your inconvenience, we are enclosing a new locking wheel lug nut key.
Replace the locking wheel lug nut key that is located in your glove box with the new locking wheel lug nut key enclosed with this letter. Please let us know that you have placed the new locking wheel lug nut key in your glove box by completing the enclosed postage paid owner reply card and returning it to us. This assists us in assuring that all affected vehicles have been corrected. If you have sold or traded your vehicle, please let us know by completing the postage paid reply card and returning it to us.
We are sorry to cause you this inconvenience; however, we have taken this action in the interest of your continued satisfaction with our products.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
