Endgate Window Latch Replacement for Chevrolet Blazer - 4WD 1998
Removal Procedure
- Remove the endgate trim
panel opening cover. Refer to
Trim Panel Opening Cover Replacement
.
- Mark the location of the endgate window latch in order to ensure
proper alignment at installation.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors, as needed.
- Remove the nuts that retain the endgate window latch to the endgate
window latch support.
- Remove the endgate window latch from the endgate.
Installation Procedure
- Install the endgate window
latch.
Ensure that the latch is properly aligned with the marks made during
disassembly.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nuts
that retain the endgate window latch to the endgate window latch support.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (88 lb in).
- Connect the electrical connectors, as needed.
- Install the endgate trim panel opening cover. Refer to
Trim Panel Opening Cover Replacement
