Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

  2. Object Number: 182736  Size: SH
  3. Remove the battery positive cable cover.

  4. Object Number: 197383  Size: SH
  5. Remove the battery positive cable bolt.
  6. Remove the battery positive cable.

  7. Object Number: 182740  Size: SH
  8. Remove the bolts that attach the underhood fuse block to the underhood fuse block support bracket.

  9. Object Number: 197403  Size: SH
  10. Loosen the bolts that secure the electrical connectors to the bottom of the underhood fuse block.

  11. Object Number: 197410  Size: SH
  12. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the underhood fuse block.
  13. Remove the underhood fuse block from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 197410  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Connect the electrical connectors to the underhood fuse block.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the electrical connector to the underhood fuse block bolts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  3. Install the bolts that attach the underhood fuse block to the underhood fuse block support bracket.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the underhood fuse block to the underhood fuse block support bracket bolts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).


    Object Number: 197383  Size: SH
  5. Attach the battery positive cable with bolt to the underhood fuse block.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the battery positive cable to the underhood fuse block bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Replace the battery positive cable cover.
  8. Connect battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
