Flushing the brake system is a process where by the old brake fluid is replaced with new fluid. The entire hydraulic brake system should be thoroughly flushed with clean brake fluid if there is any doubt as to the grade of the brake fluid in the system or if the fluid contains the slightest trace of mineral oil.

1. Replace old brake fluid with new fluid in the brake fluid reservoir.
2. Bleed the brake system, one wheel at a time. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
3. Allow brake fluid through the pipes, hoses, and bleeder valves until the brake fluid comes out clear in color.

Important: Inspect the master cylinder fluid level after you flush at each bleeder valve.

4. Refill the master cylinder as required.
5. Repeat above steps for the rest of the wheels.
6. After you flush the hydraulic brake system at each bleeder valve, fill the master cylinder to the correct fluid level. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling .
7. Test drive vehicle and check for proper brake operation.
