For 1990-2009 cars only
  1. Turn ON the engine.
  2. Operate the engine until the power steering fluid reaches normal operating temperature, about 80°C (170°F).
  3. Turn OFF the engine.
  4. Clean the area surrounding the reservoir cap.
  5. Remove the reservoir cap.
  6. Inspect the fluid level.
  7. If the fluid level is low, add power steering fluid to the proper level. Refer to Approximate Fluid Capacities and Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations in Maintenance and Lubrication.

  8. Reinstall the reservoir cap.
  9. When you inspect the fluid level after you service the steering system, bleed the air from the system.
