Inspect the HAZ LP fuse in the underhood fuse block.

Is the fuse open?

Using a test lamp from ground, backprobe connector C211 terminal A4.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Locate and repair the open or high resistance in CKT 140 (ORN).

Is the repair complete?

  1. Activate the hazard switch.
  2. Using a test lamp from ground, backprobe connector C211 terminal E1.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Replace the multifunction switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column - Standard or Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.

Is the repair complete?

Inspect for open, high resistance or short to ground in CKT 1696 (GRY) or short to ground in CKT 140 (ORN).

Was a problem found?

Locate and repair the open, high resistance or short to ground in CKT 1696 (GRY) or short to ground CKT 140 (ORN).

Is the repair complete?

Replace the turn signal lamp flasher.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
