Did you perform the Power Seat Systems Diagnostic System Check?

Verify that the power seat does not move forward or rearward.

Does the power seat operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconect the seat lateral motor connector
  2. Test the seat lateral motor forward feed circuit for voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing in wiring systems.
  3. Operate the seat adjuster switch in the FORWARD position.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconect the seat lateral motor connector
  2. Test between the seat lateral motor forward feed circuit and the seat lateral motor ground circuit for voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing in wiring systems.
  3. Operate the seat adjuster switch in the FORWARD position.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 5

Replace the seat lateral motor. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Replacement .

  1. Test for a high resistance or an open in the seat lateral motor forward feed circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in wiring systems.
  2. Reconnect any connectors that were disconnected.

Did you find and correct the condition?

  1. Test for a high resistance or an open in the seat lateral motor ground circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in wiring systems.
  2. Reconnect any connectors that were disconnected.

Replace the seat adjuster switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .
