DEFINITION: The liftgate/endgate window release switch will not activate the liftgate/endgate window release actuator. The lock cylinder switch operates properly.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Do not start the engine.
  2. Place the transmission in the PARK position (A/T) or the NEUTRAL position (M/T).
  3. For manual transmission, set the parking brake.
  4. Use the scan tool output control in order to turn the liftglass relay to the ON status.

Did the liftglass release operate?

  1. Disconnect the liftglass relay.
  2. Use a 3A fused jumper wire in order to short terminal 3 to terminal 5 of the liftglass relay connector.

Using a DMM test for continuity between liftglass relay terminal 1 and terminal 2. Refer to Circuit Testing in wiring systems.

  1. Install the liftglass relay in the underhood fuse block.
  2. Disconnect the body control module (BCM) connector C2. Connect a 3A fused jumper wire between cavity A6 of connector C2 and ground.

Connect a 3A fused jumper wire between terminal D and terminal E of the endgate/liftgate window release switch.

Locate and repair an open in CKT 56 (BLK/WHT). Refer to Wiring Repairs in wiring systems.
