Condition

Some customers may comment on a rubbing/scraping noise during turns, more commonly left turns.

Cause

This sound resembles a tire rubbing against the inner fender, but may actually be the engine cooling fan contacting the fan shroud.

Correction

  1. Loosen the three upper cooling fan shroud bolts.
  2. Reposition the shroud so there is a equal amount of clearance all the way around the fan and the shroud.
  3. Tighten the upper cooling fan shroud bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
