Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 303478  Size: SH
  1. Remove the shift lever handle and boot. Refer to Floor Shift Control Boot Replacement .
  2. Remove the center console assembly. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  3. Disconnect the range selector cable from the shift control assembly. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 449261  Size: SH
  5. Remove the nuts securing the shift controller to the floor panel.
  6. Remove the shift control assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 449261  Size: SH
  1. Install the shift control assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nuts securing the shift control assembly to the floor panel.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the range selector cable to the shift control assembly. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement .

  7. Install the center console assembly. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  8. Install the shift lever handle and boot. Refer to Floor Shift Control Boot Replacement
