Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 325556  Size: SH
  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle body.

  3. Object Number: 616725  Size: SH
  4. Remove the accelerator cable from the accelerator control cable bracket.

  5. Object Number: 616709  Size: SH
  6. Remove the accelerator cable from the cable routing bracket.

  7. Object Number: 616703  Size: SH
  8. Disconnect the accelerator cable (1) from the bracket clip (2).

  9. Object Number: 424544  Size: SH
  10. Remove the left closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  11. Remove the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal.

  12. Object Number: 616727  Size: SH
  13. Remove the accelerator cable panel insulator retainer (2) from the accelerator cable (1).
  14. Squeeze the accelerator cable tangs (3) and push the cable through the bulkhead (4).
  15. Remove the accelerator cable.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 616727  Size: SH
  1. Install the accelerator cable (1) through the bulkhead (4).
  2. Install the accelerator cable panel insulator retainer (2) on the accelerator cable (1).

  3. Object Number: 26784  Size: SH
  4. Install the accelerator cable to the accelerator pedal (2).

  5. Object Number: 616703  Size: SH
  6. Connect the accelerator cable (1) to the bracket clip (2).

  7. Object Number: 325556  Size: SH
  8. Install the accelerator cable onto the throttle body.
  9. Ensure that the cable is fully seated in the pulley groove. The cable must not lie outside of the hook tab.

  10. Object Number: 616725  Size: SH
  11. Install the accelerator cable to the accelerator cable control bracket.

  12. Object Number: 616709  Size: SH
  13. Install the accelerator cable to the cable routing bracket.
  14. Install the air cleaner outlet resonator. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement .
  15. Important: The accelerator pedal should operate freely without binding between closed and wide open throttle.

  16. Use the following procedure in order to inspect the accelerator pedal operation.
  17. 10.1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
    10.2. Using a scan tool, observe the parameter for the throttle position (TP) sensor.
    10.3. Depress the accelerator pedal to the floor.
    10.4. Release the accelerator pedal.
    10.5. Verify the throttle position has gone from 0 percent to 100 percent and back to 0 percent.
  18. Install the left closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
