Removal Procedure

  1. Loosen the clamp securing the mass air flow (MAF) sensor to the air cleaner housing cover.
  2. Remove the MAF sensor from the air cleaner housing and position it aside.

  3. Object Number: 312019  Size: SH
  4. Remove the air cleaner housing mounting nut.

  5. Object Number: 293459  Size: SH
  6. Remove the air cleaner housing by pulling upward until the mounting studs are free from the housing grommets.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 293459  Size: SH
  1. Install the air cleaner housing by pressing downward on the housing until the grommets are seated on the mounting studs.

  2. Object Number: 312019  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the air cleaner housing mounting nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

    Notice: 

       • Handle the MAF sensor carefully.
       • Do not drop the MAF sensor in order to prevent damage to the MAF sensor.
       • Do not damage the screen located on the air inlet end of the MAF.
       • Do not touch the sensing elements.
       • Do not allow solvents and lubricants to come in contact with the sensing elements.
       • Use a small amount of a soap based solution in order to aid in the installation.

  5. Insert the MAF sensor into the air cleaner housing cover.
  6. Secure the air cleaner housing to the MAF sensor.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the MAF sensor clamp to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
