Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the spare tire from the spare tire carrier.
  2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  3. Object Number: 395758  Size: SH
  4. Remove hoist assembly mounting nuts.
  5. Remove hoist assembly mounting bolts from the frame.

  6. Object Number: 395761  Size: SH
  7. Remove hoist assembly mounting bolts from the rear crossmember.
  8. Remove hoist assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 395761  Size: SH
  1. Install the hoist assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install hoist assembly mounting bolts to the rear crossmember.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the hoist assembly mounting bolts to the rear crossmember to 11 N·m (100 lb in).

  5. Install hoist assembly mounting bolts to the frame.
  6. Install hoist assembly mounting nuts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the hoist assembly mounting nuts to 37 N·m (27 lb ft).

  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Install the spare tire to the spare tire carrier.
