Front Disc Brake Hardware Replacement Dual Piston

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Brake Dust Caution in the Preface section.

Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 798971  Size: SH
  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the front brake caliper. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 799895  Size: SH
  5. Remove the front brake pads. Refer to Front Disc Brake Pads Replacement .
  6. Remove the brake pad wear sensors.

  7. Object Number: 369671  Size: SH
  8. Remove the bushings from the mounting bracket.
  9. Lightly brush all brake pad contact areas.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 156329  Size: SH
  1. Clean area using denatured alcohol.
  2. Dry area using non-lubrcated, filtered air.
  3. Apply high temperature silicone brake lubricant to the brake caliper pin bolts. DO NOT apply lubricant to the brake pad hardware.

  4. Object Number: 369671  Size: SH
  5. Install the bushings to the mounting bracket.

  6. Object Number: 799895  Size: SH
  7. Install the brake pad wear sensors.
  8. Install the brake pads.

  9. Object Number: 798971  Size: SH
  10. Install the front brake caliper. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Replacement .
  11. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  12. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General information.
  13. With the engine running, firmly pump the brake pedal three times.
