Removal Procedure
- Remove the screws that retain the data link connector (DLC) to the instrument panel sound insulator.
- Remove the instrument panel sound insulator retaining screws.
- Remove the nut that retains the instrument panel sound insulator to the accelerator pedal bracket.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors from the remote control door lock receiver module (except Japan models).
- Remove the remote control door lock receiver from the instrument panel sound insulator (except Japan models).
Feed the DLC lines through the hole in the sound insulator.
Installation Procedure
- Install the remote control door lock receiver module to the instrument panel sound insulator (except Japan models).
- Connect the electrical connector to the remote door lock receiver module (except Japan models).
- Install the nut that retains the instrument panel sound insulator to the accelerator pedal bracket.
- Install the instrument panel sound insulator retaining screws.
- Install the DLC through the hole in the instrument panel sound insulator.
- Install the screws that retain the DLC to the instrument panel sound insulator.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the instrument panel sound insulator retaining screws to 1.9 N·m
(17 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the data link connector screws to 2.4 N·m
(21 lb in).
