Important: When removing the horn contact, the horn contact spring may become a projectile. Remove slowly.
5.1. | Turn the horn contact plunger to release it from the signal switch housing assembly (1). |

The shear bolts (1) will snap off when tightened.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

Caution: Improper routing of the wire harness assembly may damage the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. This may result in a malfunction of the coil, which may cause personal injury.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3.5 N·m (31 lb in).
