The mode actuator is located on the right side of the heater assembly above the defroster actuator.

1. Remove the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the mode actuator.
3. Carefully pry back the mode actuator retaining tab with a screwdriver and remove the mode actuator.

1. Install the mode actuator to the heater assembly.
2. Connect the vacuum hose to the mode actuator.
3. Install the instrument panel carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
